I am back.

Well, it seems that I got lazy and havn't updated my blog for ages.

I am now back and will try and update it more frequently.

Some updates.

The first part of our house renovations have been finished.
We now have a new bedroom and bathroom.
But I lost my bar :-(

The next part is currently going through council approvals and quotes.



Soon I will start updating this site for the main reason I wanted to set it up for.
Computer stuff.

I will start posting some computer tutorials and stuff, mainly to do with Linux and Open Source.
But may perhaps give some updates on my chatbot I have been working with.
Still in development and written so far in 100% Python. (I am a programming noob so it may take a while) I am going to host of Sourceforge when I am not too embarressed about the code.

Hi Again,

Well, sorry about the lack of updates, but have been really busy.
Work and Home issues keeping us busy.
We have moved in to the new house and am currently making it a home
Still need stuff like a Dining Table and Chairs etc

Slowly getting there.... :-)

Moving in day!!!!!

Well, the day has finally arrived.
Time to move in!!!!!.

I am soooo stressed as I hate the prospect of moving and unpacking and the cleaning etc.

I am here writing my blog at my sisters place and drinking coffee.

Getting ready to travel to Hornsby to get to our new house.

PS. I will put up some new photos as soon as I find the USB cable for the camera and get a net connection.

Ahh , the joys of renovating

Well,
I finally got my phone connected at my new house (YEAH!!!)
The painters have finished and now the floor sanders have been busy.
The smell should be gone in a few days and we will finally be able to live in our new house
I am just about exhausted.

I am going to send some pictures of the house when its finished, but I can say it looks kinda sweet now

will write more when i have time

Moving Fun

Hi again.

Well I can honestly say that I am exhausted.
My kids are going wild and we are currently sleeping on the floor of our old place.

I had some fun with getting my new phone connected and lost my current phone connection with my old place.

You see it all went down like this.

I called Telstra to get my new phone line connected at my new house. I wanted to get this one as soon as possible so I can get my ADSL connected ASAP.
The I requested my old phone number to be disconnected on Friday Afternoon.

This went all to plan and everything was going OK.

But we had issues with moving to the new house (Here begins my issues with Telstra)

I phoned telstra about my moving issues and said if it was possible to cancel my disconnection of my old number as I had not moved yet and still want the number and I still required my ADSL connection.

I knew this was late, so I told the Telstra operator if it was not possible to cancel the disconnection due to the short notice, not to worry about it.

I also asked to make sure this will not affect my new connection at my new house.

I was assured that this would not be a problem.

Sooooo the telstra guy cancels my disconnection request AND my new number connection at my new place. (he tells me not to worry all is fine)

The after about 10 minutes he tells me that he cannot reconnect my new house number and I have a small chance of loosing my new phone number (that I just gave out to everyone)

And that It could take up to 5 business days to get it reconnected.... (I am a little mad at this point but i say hey at least i still have my old phone number and ADSL connection)

Now my sister comes over and asks me to help her setup her new laptop.
All is going fine when suddenly my ADSL connection just dies!!!!

I panic , thinking that 1) Teltra just disconnected my phone line.
2) I check the phone connection all i can ring out.
3) I can no longer get ADSL at all after checking all settings but the ADSL signal still exists on the line but no PPP connection exists
4) I got up to make a coffee and my wife tells me the phone is dead

5) I curse Telstra !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
6) I curse Telstra again
8) and again and again

They make me soooo mad

Oh well thats life

Last Day before move

Hi again.

Its my last day before the big move.
Too many things to do and too many boxes.
It was raining today too so I am very worried about tomorrow....

This is also my last day without ADSL for a while, looks like I am back to dial up for a while untill
I can get my new service connected.

Wish me and my family the best of luck with the move...

I will write more as I get time and a stable connection.

Another Day

Well, its almost the end of another day.
Packing, cleaning, throwing stuff away... Joy!!

Its been very tiring doing it all, I hurt my wrist , so makes it more difficult.
The kids are mucking up, because of all the mess they are playing with everything and unpackingf the boxes we just packed :-)

Well I shall put in some photos my my new place. These were taken the first day we got the keys.
Before the painter has had a chance to do their magic.

New House

Well,
Hi again!

For anyone that is interested, I just got the keys to my new house.
I will have my computer room back again :-)

The settlement went through about 3pm today. I got the nice phone call to pick up
the keys around 3:45pm

Was waiting outside to place with the painter to get a quote on painting my new place.

Picked up the keys and raced back.

The quote almost killed me $6000 to paint the place.

Oh well, its only money and life time of debt and misery :-)

We are planning on moving into the new house on Thursday so wish me luck
